Though written for a church setting, Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem has been called his "greatest opera," and for good reason. The Requiem is boldly theatrical in style, with passages of great tenderness set against terrifying drama. The sheer scale of the performance (a combined instrumental and choral force of nearly 250 musicians) adds to its powerful emotional impact. Experience massive music and high drama as the VBF Orchestra and Chorus, Conspirare Symphonic Chorus, and Texas State Chorale perform under the baton of VBF Artistic Director Craig Hella Johnson.
